Food was good. The place is small but was full of people. It's a little more expensive than ichiban but the rules were good. You kind of order on your own and help yourself to drinks and getting your silverware. Getting your own boxes if you have anything to take home. Really is a self-service type place.. They bring out the food and that's about it.
This place has done way downhill. Everything is self- serve, and they expect you to leave a tip. You have to place your order at a kiosk unless paint cash, then a person will take your order. Additionally, expect 3 people to share one "plate" but at another table being two plates. Forget about getting a roll with soy paper unless you want to use a spoon to eat. Sushi fell apart just by picking up other pieces. Then, they want to charge you $0.50 for any additional sauce. See attached photos. Won't be back here again until big changes are made.
Not good. The order kiosk was hard to follow and did not work when I tried to pay.
There were 6 dirty tables and lots of leftovers on each table. That should have been I sign to me that the sushi would not be good.
The sushi rolls came out about 3 min after we ordered. So they were premade.
They were served cool but not cold.
The flavor was unappealing so we only ate a few from each roll.
The only good thing - our large portion of udon noodles came out a few minutes later hot and delicious.
Kimchi jjigae (Korean pork kimchi stew) was actually pretty good. This is probably the only place where you can get it in Waco. I will try other Korean items such as Korean bulgogi (stir fry pork/beef) next time I come here
We Were trepidate about our incipient experience here, but we were very pleasantly surprised when the server appeared with miso soup. We both prefer tofu--if it must be present--to be very soft and nearly dispersed in the soup, but these cubes were very firm. They could be distributed among the bibimbop, though. The soup presented a texture that I, being very suspicious of bean-based material, felt wholly like a lentil or some other small bean smashed and suspended as a type of thickener. The serving size of the main dish was exceedingly generous, particularly in consideration of the moderate price: I see two full meals here in my bowl. We look forward to another visit for shared Wako rolls.
It is a shame that the food is good here, because everything else is subpar. The family that owns this restaurant gives the impression that you are bothering them by coming in to dine. They are so rude and non-gracious. It is beyond irritating that they do not want customer contact, so they installed these computer screens where they force you to order. This takes away any customization options, too. At the end of the ordering process, the computer has the audacity to ask for a tip. The family that runs this restaurant does not greet customers upon entry, doesn't speak as you pass by their counter, etc. The water spout on the soda machine wasn't working correctly when I tried to get water, so I asked one of the employees for help. She asked another employee that was sitting down slurping food and looking at facebook why the water machine was not working. That employee just said, "it's not broken". That was the end of it. In this day and time when food costs so much, one would think that a local owned restaurant would appreciate every customer that walked through their door. At Wako Roll, they could care less if you are there or not. I will say that the food is good, but I hate going there and being treated rudely.
Visited this place for the first time recently. A co-worker recommended it. I wasn't impressed with the interior of the establishment. It looked kind of messy and in need of love. The customer service was excellent. The cashier was super nice as well as the employee that gave me the order. About the food, well, we ordered 3 different rolls of sushi and the 3 of them were actually really good. We also ordered spicy fries and fried rice. We disliked both. The rice was hard, dry and tasteless. We will not order again rice or fries. We did enjoyed their fried squid rings. They were tasty. Overall an ok place that could be really good if they put more attention to detail on their menu and interior decor of the place.
This place has so much flavor. Waco Roll was my absolute favorite. There is crunch, spice, and rice. New York roll was fresh and had delicious shrimp. Spicy tuna and dragon roll also had a little kick to it. 🔥Bibimbap beef tasted phenomenal😋. We are always coming back here for sushilicious meals.
